Barcelona, May 19, 2022. Abertis has renewed for the third consecutive time the Bequal Plus Seal, awarded by the Bequal Foundation, which certifies its policy of inclusion of people with disabilities. Abertis has had this accreditation, in its Plus category, since 2015 and, in this latest renewal, the Bequal Foundation has highlighted the continuous improvement of Abertis in all the indicators considered by the certification, especially in Human Resources Management, for which it has congratulated it "for the work carried out throughout these years of certification".

Laura Brun Elvira, Labor Relations Manager at Abertis, has been in charge of collecting the Bequal Seal from Francisco Vañó Ferre, Trustee in charge of Institutional Relations of the Bequal Foundation, in a ceremony that took place this morning at the headquarters of Abertis, in Barcelona.

The award ceremony was also attended by Andrea Juanpera, Abertis Labor Relations technician, and José Antonio Martín Rodríguez, managing director of the Bequal Foundation.

For her part, Laura Brun of Abertis expressed her satisfaction at renewing this certificate "which recognizes our corporate social responsibility policy and values us as a company committed to and sensitive to the inclusive management of people with disabilities".

Francisco Vañó congratulated Abertis for the continuous improvement it has demonstrated over the six years it has held the Bequal certification. The work carried out in all areas of the company, and especially in human resources management, affirms Abertis Infraestructures'commitment to the inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace and encourages them to continue working along these lines, which will undoubtedly help to promote the much-needed culture of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

The Bequal certificate

The Bequal certificate is a third-party evaluation formula that determines the degree of commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and Disability in essential areas such as strategy and leadership, the commitment of senior management to people with disabilities, human resources management, compliance with regulations and inclusive and equal opportunity policies in all selection procedures, access to employment, career advancement and training.

In addition, organizations that achieve the Bequal Certificate demonstrate their commitment and contribution to the fulfillment of the SDGs, especially SDG 8 on decent work and SDG 10 on reducing inequalities, among others.

The Bequal Foundation, the entity that manages the granting of the certification with the same name, is the result of the work carried out since 2011 in the conception of a systematized model of certifiable indicators that brings together all the wealth and experience of its founding entities: the Spanish Committee of Representatives of Persons with Disabilities (CERMI), theONCE Foundation, FEACEM and the Seeliger y Conde Foundation.
