About Abertis and its Foundation
Abertis is one of the world's leading toll road operators, with some 8,000 kilometres of high-capacity roads of the utmost quality in 16 countries across Europe, America and Asia. Abertis’ top priority is driver safety. Fuelled by its commitment to research and innovation, Abertis combines advances in high capacity infrastructures with new technologies to drive innovative solutions to meet the challenges of the future of mobility.
The Abertis Foundation was established in 1999 for the purpose of mitigating the impact of the Abertis Group’s activities on the different regions and countries where it operates. The Foundation has always prioritised initiatives related to road safety, the environment and social action, in keeping with Abertis' sustainability strategy and the Abertis Group's commitment to road safety.
In 2006, the Abertis Foundation's Road Safety Programme was created, which also channels the actions of all Abertis Group subsidiaries.
